Conversation with Ian Lawson and Lucas Kalinak – Pinnacle Spine and Sports
Ian:
Hi everybody, We’ve got a new physiotherapist here at Pinnacle Spine & Sports, so I thought we’d take a moment to introduce you to him. This is Lucas. Lovely to have you here. Tell us a bit about yourself and where do you hail from, and about yourself as a physio.
Lucas:
Yeah, so I’m from Canada. I came out in 2016 to study for the masters of physiotherapy, which I’ve now completed. I was working at a few clinics around Sydney all the way from the Northern Beaches to the North Shore. I just recently moved into Concord, and it’s always been a goal of mine to work in the community, so I’m super excited to have this opportunity and just get plugged into the community.
Ian:
Great, we love our local community. We have some amazing patients in this area, and we hope you all get a chance to meet Lucas soon. Tell us about yourself as a physio. Who do you like treating and working with?
Lucas:
Yeah, so I just love getting people back to what they love to do, whether that’s walking their dog in the park or whether that’s lifting as much weight as they can in the gym. I myself am a weightlifter. I am trying to get into the thousand-pound club. I’m at 880, so still, a ways to go but on the way up. In terms of how I treat, I love to use my hands and use manual therapy to enable people to move. I use my background in personal training to show people how to move in the ways that they have forgotten so that they can do what they love, and that’s how I love to treat.
Ian:
Nice, that’s great. You’ve been here for almost a week; tell me in that time, who on the team here has got the most annoying personality trait that you’ve noticed?
Lucas:
Yeah, well, on Sunday the champions league final happened, and Chelsea won, which was not my ideal scenario because they are the enemy of my team Tottenham Hotspur and the Grant is a massive Chelsea fan, and he has not shut up about it, and he’s put the Chelsea logo on all our screens, and we’ve had to change them back to normal slowly.
Ian:
I would have to agree with that one, I think but don’t worry, it won’t last too long; he’ll get over it soon enough.
Well, there we go. There’s a little snapshot of who Lucas is and if you want to book in and see him for a physio session, have a look at your lifting technique in the gym or any injuries that you’re currently experiencing, then jump online to book or call 02 9743 2311. We’d love to be able to help you.
